Lesson description

This lesson brings you two videos in its quest to explore the question: What were the proxy wars of the Cold War? And, which war had the biggest impact on the development of relations between the two Superpowers, the US and the USSR?

This lesson contains:

  • Details of the four major proxy wars of the Cold War, including the Korean War, the Vietnamese War, the Cuban Missile Crisis, and the Afghan-Soviet War.
  • An analysis of the impact of each proxy war and how significant they were in influencing relations between the US and the USSR during the Cold War.
  • A closer look at the Cuban Missile Crisis and a chance to evaluate which Superpower (if any) was ultimately victorious.
