This lesson contains:

  • The chronology of the Medieval era from William the Conqueror’s victory at Hastings in 1066 to Richard III’s defeat at the hands of Henry Tudor at the Battle of Bosworth, 1485.
  • An introduction to the keys themes throughout the Medieval era, including rebellions, military might, power of the church, and power struggles.
  • The politics and power dynamics the kings had to, and often failed to, maintain between his barons and England’s religious leaders.
